Whilst I am pleased with the new approach to writing in the new Writing Framework, the overwhelming number of teachers at and my personal writing workshops have revealed that the substantial decline in the number of teaching assistants presents a real challenge.
The personal writing workshops that have been conducting over the last few years revealed that not only pupils but teachers were more enthusiastic about teaching writing using the methods recommended in the new Writing Framework rather than the book-based approach.
Year 3 have loved working with Adam Bushnell this afternoon to plan a narrative focused around Ancient Egypt. We can’t wait to start writing our stories.
